    • STRONG & LIGHT: Single latch design means that your stake is less likely to break because we have reduced the risk on the weakest area of the stake (the head).

HIGHLY VISIBLE: In racing red, the tri-beam ground stakes WILL NOT BE LOST in the long grass! The highly reflective paracord also ensures easy removal and visibility so you don't unnecessarily kick them around your tent at night.

    A stake!

These stakes work in all soils. Strong, lightweight.

    good solid stakes

Have these as backups for tarps and mishaps - they do what they are supposed to.

Very good so far ...waiting for the colder harder ground to test durability

Currently giving only 4 stars because these stakes haven't had a lot of use to test durability. Otherwise, they have performed very well for 2 previous spring weekend campouts. Cold and breezy ...but not really windy. The New England dirt was not frozen solid or full of rocks so inserting them into the ground was easily done with the push of ones foot if not able to do it by hand. Note, I used a combination of these stakes and some from Mountainsmith [ASIN:B005LURNXG Mountainsmith Tent Stakes (Set of 8)] on an ALPS Taurus 4 Outfitter Tent [ASIN:B009WH15YM ALPS Mountaineering Taurus 4 Outfitter Tent]. The TNH ones were used to tie down the fly while the Mountainsmith were on the tent body. Unless someone happened to trip on a guy line, all the stakes held great in the ground and no adjustments were needed over the weekends. Nice feature with the included reflective "pull loop" line attached on each stake, they actually stand out at night when using flashlight or headlamp. Also makes it easy to pull the stakes out of the ground when packing up. Unlike the Mountainsmith one's ...which I am tempted to Dremel some holes into them to add some similar line on them. I would consider buying another set if I needed replacements. Great value given its use so far ...even more value in that I got them during an Amazon Lightning Deal. [UPDATE .. 9/25/17] Used them again this past weekend at a different campground. The ground was still soft but lots of tree roots and small rocks. Tougher to put in but still able to push in with foot. Note, both the TNH and Mountainsmith started to develop bends in 1 or 2 spikes. See extra pictures. Also, these TNH stakes look like they are an older model as they don't have the hooked notch as the current ones being sold here on Amazon.

Small and lightweight...but handled some heavyweight tension in soft soil today.

I purchased these stakes to help hold down my rainfly for a hammock. They are very lightweight and seem sturdy enough for my needs. The rope loop certainly helps to pull these out of the ground as well. When these arrived today, I was in the middle of another project and decided to test these stakes out by seeing how well they would do with holding up a PVC adjustable tarp pole that I made. I made four of these poles with the hope that they can be used to hold an additional rain tarp over a tent. I was testing these poles out today along with some guy lines that I had put together and decided to see if these smaller lightweight stakes could handle the job in some pretty soft ground. I'm planning on using some longer 10" galvanized stakes for the actual job, but since I had these TNH ones here...I'll see if they can do it. They actually performed quite well...even in the soft soil. I took three guy lines to hold up a single pole and left it in the backyard all day. The stakes held without any problems. These are not my original plan for these stakes...but it was impressive that they did so well. I'm probably going to order some more of these to put in my hiking bag as well because they are so small and light. I have a hammock and rain tarp rig for that bag for emergencies and these will work quite well. The color is cool and the easy to find rope ring is very helpful. I like how these come in a storage bag too.

Good, wish they were more durable

For the price, these are pretty nice stakes. Read the reviews, was hopeful these were going to last me a long time. However, despite using a rubber mallet, and not pounding into that hard of dirt, I still managed to bend one of these guys. I attempted to pound it back, and ended up breaking it. I will say I was attempting to hit the stake in at an angle, and wasn't being overly cautious with my blows, but still wished these were a little more durable. If you do more car-camping, I recommend going with a thicker, heavy-duty stake. If you take these backpacking, just be very cautious pounding them in, and they'll last you a lot longer. The color and tie are very nice, as previously mentioned, for identifying at night and pulling out with ease. They are also compact and light. Overall, get what you pay for.
